COPY SERVICE AND SUPPLY, KOSI OFFICE SYSTEMS, ATLANTIC BUSINESS SYSTEMS, AND OFFICE FURNITURE CONCEPTS MERGE, ADOPT NEW NAME

STATESVILLE, NC / TAMPA, FL, June 24 – Global Imaging Systems, Inc., announced today that Copy Service and Supply (CSS), a core Global Imaging Systems company based in Statesville, N.C., and its three satellite companies, Kosi Office Systems, based in Columbia, S.C., Atlantic Business Systems, based in Charleston, S.C., and Office Furniture Concepts, also based in Statesville, N.C. have merged to form a new company, Carolina Office Systems. The new company now ranks as one of the leading office equipment and technology solutions providers in the Carolinas with 104 employees in nine locations serving 3,600 customers.

Dan Cooper, president of Carolina Office Systems, said that as each operation has expanded the number of its locations and customer base, “we decided that the next logical step was to formally merge and to adopt a single name that reflects our true size and capabilities.” He said that the merger would also further increase operating efficiencies and shared resources as the company continues its growth. “Most importantly, we will now be able to provide an even wider array of productivity-enhancing office technology services and solutions to our customers,” said Mr. Cooper.

He said Carolina Office Systems was also adding Canon printer/copiers, Kyocera-Mita printers and Muratec multi-function and fax devices to its product offerings, and has upgraded many internal systems to facilitate customer contact with the company’s sales and support staff.

Global Imaging Chairman and CEO Tom Johnson said, “These four companies have worked so well together, and been so successful in expanding their customer base throughout North and South Carolina, it only makes sense for them to share a common name as they continue to grow.”
