ARIZONA OFFICE TECHNOLOGIES AND CB DOCUMENT SOLUTIONS MERGE TO FORM
THE ARIZONA OFFICE TECHNOLOGIES GROUP
PHOENIX, AZ, Apr. 19— Arizona Office Technologies (AOT) and CB Document Solutions (CBDS), both Arizona-based companies of Global Imaging Systems (NASDAQ: GISX), announced today that they have merged all of their operations in the state under the newly formed Arizona Office Technologies Group. Previously, the companies had been operating as separate, competing entities in both the Phoenix and Tucson markets.
The combined companies will do business as Arizona Office Technologies in the Phoenix market and continue to use the CB Document Solutions brand in the Tucson market. CBDS, founded in Tucson in 1989 and formerly known as the Copier Brothers, has been part of Global since May 2004. AOT has been part of Global since October 2000 and has been the core company of Global’s Southwest Group. Founded in Phoenix in 1986, AOT celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. A third company, CopySystems of Prescott, founded in 1992 and acquired by AOT in November 2004, will also be part of the new group. It continues to operate under its brand name for all of Northern Arizona, including a planned second office in Flagstaff.
Mike McGuirk, president of AOT and the new group, said, “CBDS, like CopySystems, has built a company that is a known and proven business partner in its marketplace. Sharing resources, while maintaining the local touch and local service in each distinct market, is consistent with Global’s philosophy of remaining passionate about our customer’s productivity.”
Tom Metzler, who has been the acting president of CBDS, said, “This move increases our leadership position in the state and fits well with our company-wide effort to service all key markets in Arizona.” Mr. Metzler will continue to oversee the new Arizona group in his role as president of West Coast Operations for Global Imaging.
